First
start by removing the trim pieces on the dash. Then remove the
screws retaining the dash. You will need to remove both the top
and bottom part of the dash. |
|
|
To
remove the headlight knw find the notch and insert a pin, pen
or just anything that will fit. Pry out while pulling the knob. |
In
order to pull the dash out well enough to get at all of the screws
on the dash itself, you will need to remove the column cover.
|
|
|
In
order to remove the upper part of the column cover you will need
to remove the ign. tumbler. To do this locate the set pin underneith
the tumbler, press it in while turning the key forward just before
the starter engages you should be able to pull out the tumbler. |
Remove
the screws holding the gauges together so you can get direct access
to them. |
|
|
Test
fit the gauges, cut out the areas that interfere with the gauge
plugs. Do not bend these. |
Apply a adhesive
to the original gauges so the aftermarket ones will stick. I
used 3M spray adhesive.
|
|
|
Clean
up the clear dust cover as much as you can. Mine was dirty and
scratched to hell but it did clean up quite a bit when I washed
it. |
Now
route your wires and attach the plugs together.if your inverter
is connected test the gauges. |
|
|
I'm
going to skip the wiring part for now because it is quite self-explanitory
and all you need to do is connect the wiring harnesses to lights-on
power and a good ground. Mine connected into that rats nest you
see in the background. |
Assembily
is the reverse of removal. now sit back and admire your work! |
|
HVAC Controls
|
First
remove the trim bar to expose the screws. |
|
|
Remove
the screws and knobs, and pull the HVAC control out of it's hole. |
Clean
the face of the HVAC controls I had quite a bit of dust accumlicated
in there. |
|
|
Stick on the gauge face,
route your wires and plug it into the inverter. |
| Assembly is the reverse
of removal. Enjoy your matching gauge face! |
